iPhone 5 iOS update

iPhone 5 iOS update

Trusty iPhone 5 still on the go?

You might have had a pop-up telling you that it's time to update your iOS. Don't worry - it's legit and you're not going to lose all your photos. If you're not on iOS 10.3.4 or above yet, update your software so that you'll still be able to access everything.

It's really easy to update your iOS, and you'll want to do it before 3 November, otherwise you won't be able to connect to the internet - including the App Store and iCloud. Follow these steps:

  1. On your homescreen, tap Settings
  2. Go to General
  3. Tap Software Update
  4. Your phone will do the rest!

If you missed the 3 November date, don't panic - you can still update your phone. You'll just need to plug it into a computer with a lightning cable instead of following these steps.

If you're really old school and you're still rocking the iPhone 4s or earlier, you'll need an update too. Some older iPads that connect to the internet using cellular will be impacted as well, but if you're not sure, it's best to update your software just in case, so you won't be caught out.
