Changing your price plan.

If you often run out of minutes or data, maybe it's time to change your price plan. You can get all the extra minutes and /or data you need, without extending your contract.


How to change your price plan

If you’re on a new price plan, just go to My3 and select Change Price Plan.

By 'new' we mean an Essential plan or any Pay Monthly plan taken out from March 2014 onwards, and any SIM-only plan taken out from July 2014 onwards (you may hear us refer to these as Advanced plans). This includes if you upgraded your contract with us after these dates.

If you took out a Price Plan before these dates, please call us on 333 from a Three phone or 0333 338 1001 from any other phone (standard rates apply) and we’ll talk you through your options.

You’ll need to pay a small one-off fee if you change your price plan midway through your bill cycle. This is to cover the extra minutes and / or data you get when you change your price plan, which you can use straight away unless your changing from an Essential plan to one of our Advanced plans.

If you’re on one of our Essential plans but you’d like benefits such as:

  • Feel At Home, not just in most European destinations but in many around the world, including USA, Australia, Brazil and more
  • Personal Hotspot
  • free calls to 333

You could change your plan to one of our Advanced plans.

You won’t be able to make this change on My3 but if you contact us, we’ll be more than happy to do this for you – this change won’t take effect immediately but from your next bill cycle.


When it’s better to buy an Add-on than change price plan

If you just need some extra data until your monthly allowance is refreshed, you might want to consider buying an Add-on instead of changing price plan.

If you’re on an Essential plan but would like a Personal Hotspot allowance, you can also purchase a Personal Hotspot monthly rolling Add-on.

Just log in to My3 and select Buy Add-ons.

But if you need a bigger data allowance on a long-term basis, it's better to change price plan.

If you need more minutes and don’t want to pay out of allowance charges for these you’ll need to change price plan, as we don’t sell Add-ons for extra minutes.
