Skype is a service that uses the internet to make calls and send instant messages to other people using Skype all around the world.

Our version of Skype, which we call Skype-on-Three, is free to download and use if you have a compatible phone. You'll need to download it from Planet 3 for it to be free. To check if you have Skype-on-Three go to:

With Skype-on-Three, you can make free Skype-to-Skype calls and send free instant messages to other people using Skype. You won't be charged for using data when you use our version of Skype. You can also make low cost international calls with Skype Call Phones Abroad to people who aren't using Skype, whether they're on a mobile or landline.

What if my phone doesn't have Skype-on-Three?

If your phone isn't compatible with Skype-on-Three you can still download a free Skype app from your app store. If you have a Pay As You Go phone you'll need to top-up and buy an Add-on that has internet allowance so you can use the internet to download Skype. Using this Skype app will use data but you can connect to Wi-Fi to avoid being charged. There may also be some other charges.

You can open the Skype app on some phones by going to Favourites or Planet 3, or by opening a preloaded Skype app.
