Where do I get apps for my phone?

You can download apps from various sites depending on your phone. If you have a smartphone, you'll find one of these app stores already installed on your phone:

Google Play.

Google Play is for Android phones. It's replaced Google's old app store, Android Market. You can open it by tapping on the Google Play Store icon in your phone's app menu or going to http://play.google.com on your computer.

App Store.

App Store is where you can get iPhone apps. You can access it either from iTunes on your computer or by tapping the App Store icon on your iPhone. You can pay for apps through your iTunes account.

BlackBerry App World.

BlackBerry App World is where you can download apps for your BlackBerry. You can open it by selecting the BlackBerry App World icon on your phone. Before you can use BlackBerry App World, you'll need to create a BlackBerry ID. You'll also need to check that you have BlackBerry Device Software version 4.5 or above:

  1. From the Menu, select Options
  2. Select About or Device, About Device Versions

Nokia Store.

You can download apps for your Nokia from Nokia Store. You’ll have the option to pay for apps from Nokia Store in your monthly bill but you’ll need to have credit on your account. To open the Nokia Store, select the Nokia Store icon on your phone.

Windows Phone Store.

Windows Phone Store lets you download apps for your Windows Phone 7, 8 or Windows RT device. This replaces Windows Phone Marketplace.

You can browse categories and titles, see featured items, and get details with ratings, reviews, screen shots and pricing information. Some apps in Windows Phone Store also let you download a trial version before you commit to buying the app.
