Getting internet on your phone.
Getting internet settings on your phone.

To get the best experience on your non-Three phone you may need to change some settings to access the internet, email and send or receive picture or video messages.

The easiest way to do this is to have your settings sent to you ‘over the air’ (OTA) by text. The first time you try to use the internet or send a picture or video message from an unlocked phone, we’ll send you a text letting you know that we’re sending you these settings. You’ll then receive the settings by another text and may need to accept them before they can be installed on your phone.

If you’re using a Windows or Android phone, BlackBerry, iPhone or some other phones, you may not be able to get your settings over the air as these phones don’t support this. If you don’t receive the text when you first try to use the internet, you’ll need to get the settings yourself.

Get the settings yourself.

We may be able to send you the settings if you fill in our online form and follow these steps:

  1. Enter your phone number
  2. Select your phone's manufacturer and model. If you don’t know the model, you can enter your phone’s serial number. To find this, enter *#06# on your phone and the serial number will appear on its screen

  1. If you can tick Accessing 3 Internet Services GPRS and Sending or receiving picture messages (MMS), your phone supports over the air settings. Select these options
  1. Click Send settings
  2. You’ll get a text message from us with the settings you need
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions on your phone to change your settings

Note: If you only see the option Sending or receiving text messages (SMS), it means that your phone doesn't support over the air settings and you'll have to enter the settings manually.

Get the settings manually.

If we can’t send you your settings by text or through our online form, you’ll still be able to get them. You’ll just need to enter them manually. To find out where to put these settings, you’ll need to check your phone’s instruction manual. For help getting these settings on a non-Three iPhone, click here.
