Dongle drivers.

If your dongle won't install when you plug it in, you may need to download some software for it, called a driver.


Dongle drivers for Windows.

 

To install a driver:


  1. Find your dongle's model and manufacturer on the back of your dongle
  2. Select your dongle from the list below
  3. Click the link to download your dongle's driver. Click Save and choose somewhere memorable to save it. The download should take about five minutes
  4. When your download is complete, find the downloaded file on your computer. It'll be a zip file. Right-click on the file, and select Extract all.... If this option doesn't appear, you may need to download a programme like 7Zip
  5. Follow the instructions to extract the file, then open the extracted folder
  6. Plug your dongle into your computer's USB port
  7. Double-click to open the driver file
  8. You can now install the dongle, following the instructions that came with it
  • Drivers for the Huawei E169 on Windows XP, Vista and 7
  • Drivers for all other Huawei dongles on Windows XP, Vista and 7
  • Drivers for the ZTE MF112 and MF627 on Windows XP, Vista and 7

Dongle drivers for Mac OS X.

These drivers will run on Mac OS X versions Tiger (10.4), Leopard (10.5), Snow Leopard (10.6), Lion (10.7) and Mountain Lion (10.8). You’ll need to update your dongle software if you got a Mac OS information card with your Mobile Broadband SIM pack or the box your dongle came in.


To install a driver:


  1. Find your dongle's model and manufacturer on the back of your dongle
  2. Plug your dongle into one of your Mac’s USB ports
  3. Select the dongle from the list below
  4. Click the link to download your dongle's driver. The download should take about five minutes
  5. When the drivers have finished downloading, unplug your dongle
  6. Plug your dongle back into the USB port
  7. You can now install the dongle following the instructions that came with it.

3Connect uninstaller.

To uninstall 3Connect:


  1. Download the 3Connect uninstall tool from here
  2. After downloading, double-click the file to run BEC_reset_en.exe
  3. 3Connect will now uninstall
  4. After the uninstall is complete, you'll need to restart your computer
  5. You can reinstall 3Connect by plugging your dongle into your computer

This should only be used if you're having trouble uninstalling 3Connect and we've advised you to download the uninstaller.
