Setting up email.
The steps below are based on using the latest software. If the screenshots or steps look different to you, you should update your software, to keep your iPad working smoothly and securely.
To set up an email account:
On the homescreen, tap Mail
If you've already signed into your iPad using your Apple ID, this email address may already be set up as an email account. If it is, follow steps for setting up additional email
Choose the type of email account you want to set up. Most personal email accounts will work with Other
If you chose Other you'll need to tap Add Mail Account
Enter your email address and password, tap Next
If your email settings don't exist on the phone, you'll be asked for some extra information. You can check here to see if we have the settings you need for your email. If we don't you should contact your email provider for this information
When the information is accepted you'll be able to sync your iPad with your existing contacts and calendars.
Note: some email accounts aren't compatible with this feature. Tap Save
Your email account will now be set up on your iPad.
