Apple iPad Air 2 support.

Setting a passcode lock.

The steps below are based on using the latest software. If the screenshots or steps look different to you, you should update your software, to keep your iPad working smoothly and securely.

To create a passcode lock to secure your iPad:

  1. On the homescreen, tap Settings

  2. Tap General

  3. Tap Passcode Lock

  4. Before you set up a passcode, you can choose to set a four digit code by leaving the Simple Passcode option On. If you change this option to Off you can enter a longer code

  5. Tap Turn Passcode On

  6. Choose a code and enter it. If you've chosen a longer code, you'll need to tap Next

  7. Enter the code again

  8. You can choose how long it takes for your iPad to lock automatically by tapping Require Passcode and selecting your chosen time

Your iPad will now lock when you're not using it.
