Using FaceTime.

The steps below are based on using the latest software. If the screenshots or steps look different to you, you should update your software, to keep your iPad working smoothly and securely.

You can use FaceTime to make video calls from your iPad, as long as the person you're calling is using one of the devices listed below:

  • iPhone 4
  • iPhone 4S
  • iPhone 5
  • iPhone 5C
  • iPhone 5S
  • iPad 2
  • new iPad
  • iPad Mini
  • iPad with Retina Display
  • iPad Air
  • iPod Touch (4th generation)
  • Mac

You can use FaceTime either over our network or over Wi-Fi. It doesn't cost anything extra to use FaceTime on our network, any usage just comes out of your data allowance as usual.

To make a FaceTime call:

  1. On your homescreen, tap FaceTime

  2. Tap on the contact you want to FaceTime

  3. Tap FaceTime
