Setting a passcode lock.

The steps below are based on using the latest software. If the screenshots or steps look different to you, you should update your software, to keep your phone working smoothly and securely.

To set a passcode lock:

  1. Tap Settings

  2. Tap Touch ID & Passcode

  3. To set up a Passcode, tap Turn Passcode On.

  4. You'll be asked to create a passcode lock and enter it twice. If you've chosen to use a longer password, you'll need to tap return before you can re-enter it

Note: You can tap Passcode Options to change the type of passcode you use.

  5. You can choose how long it takes for your iPhone to lock automatically by tapping Require Passcode and selecting how long you'd like

Your iPhone will now lock when you're not using it.
