Setting up your phone.

When you turn on your new Samsung Galaxy phone for the first time, you'll be taken through a number of steps to help get you started:

  1. Choose your language and tap the arrow

  2. You'll be asked if you want to connect to Wi-Fi. You can skip this step by tapping Next

  3. Tap Next

  4. To confirm you agree to the terms and conditions, tap Agree

  5. If your old phone is Android, you can transfer accounts and data by tapping the phones together. Tap Next and follow the onscreen instructions, or No, thanks if you don't want to

  6. You'll need a Google account to download apps from Google Play. If you have an account, enter your email address and password. If you don't have a Google account, tap Or create a new account to set one up. You can skip this step by tapping Skip

  7. You'll be asked to set the date, time and time zone. If the time and date are correct, tap Next

  8. Some apps like to personalise your experience by using your name. Enter your name and tap Next

  9. To set up your email accounts, tap Personal then Next. If you don't, tap Not now then Next

  10. You'll be asked if you want to set up a fingerprint, PIN, pattern or password lock on your phone. Choose an option and tap Next

  11. You'll be asked if you want to use Google location services. If you don't, untick the boxes and tap Next

  12. Signing in with a Samsung account gives you access to extra services. If you don't want to use one, tap the arrow at the bottom then Next

  13. You can use the Smart Switch cable that came in the box to transfer content from your old phone to your new one. Tap Later if you don't want to do this

  14. Tap Finish

  15. There's a few apps we recommend to get you started. Tap Continue

  16. Once you've chosen apps to install, tap Finish

    Your phone is now ready to use.
