Parental controls

Your Three Broadband hub and Huawei app allow you set internet access time limits for family members. If you use the browser login, you can also manage website access, ensuring a safe internet environment for you and your family.

Using the Huawei App

  1. Open the app and enter your hub password if prompted. If you haven't changed this, you'll find this under the IP number on the sticker on the base/back of your hub.

  2. Tap Devices

  3. You'll see a list of devices currently connected to your hub, and those that are offline. You can add parental controls to any of these. Tap the device you want to enable parental controls on.

  4. Tap Parental control

  5. Tap + on the top right to add a timed restriction. 

  6. You can now choose a time when you want to give the chosen device acces to the internet. You can remove the restrictions at anytime.



Using the browser login

  1. Open the browser of your connected tablet or mobile device and go to 192.168.8.1

  2. Select ‘Go directly to web page’ and enter the password. If you haven't changed this, you'll find it under the IP number on the sticker on the base/back of your hub.

  3. Once you're logged in, select Tools

  4. Select Parental Control from the left hand menu

  5. You can apply internet access time limits to specific devices by selecting the + icon, or you can choose to allow or restrict access to certain sites only by selecting Web Filter.

  6. If you choose to use Web Filter, you can use Blacklist or Whitelist by selecting the appropriate Filter mode.

    Blacklist – The user won't be able to access sites that have been added to the blacklist.

    Whitelist – The user can only access sites that have been added to the whitelist.
