Updating your software.
It’s a good idea to update your phone’s software regularly. Updating your software gives you new features, keeps your phone running smoothly and can fix a lot of common problems. It should always be one of the first things you do if you’re having problems with your phone.
Before you update your phone, make sure your battery is fully charged. You should also make sure that you have backed up your personal data, like contacts that are stored on your phone.
Software updates need to be approved by mobile networks before your phone will allow you to update your software. If you're using a phone that you didn't get from us, an update may not be available at the same time as it would be for a phone that came from Three.
Your HTC phone will automatically check and notify you if there's a new update. You can then download and install the software update to your phone. If you have switched this feature off then you should search for updates manually.
To check for updates manually:
On the homescreen, tap the Apps icon
Tap Software updates
The phone will automatically check for new updates.
Note: Checking and downloading software updates will use data included in your plan. If you have a data limit you should check your My3 account to make sure you have enough data left.
To update the software:
- When an Install software message appears on your screen, tap Install and follow the onscreen instructions
