You can protect your SIM card from unauthorised use by setting up a PIN (personal identification number). This is how:

1. From the Menu, open the Control panel
2. Select Settings
3. Select General
4. Select Security
5. Change the PIN code request setting to On
6. In the PIN code field, enter the default PIN which is 0000 and select OK
7. To change the PIN, select the PIN code field, enter the default PIN and then enter your new PIN

Note: emergency calls can still be made without a PIN.
