Connecting to the internet.

There are two ways for you to connect to the internet on your phone. You can connect by using our network or by using Wi-Fi.

If your phone came directly from Three, you shouldn't need to do anything to use our network to connect to the internet. All our phones come with the internet already installed and ready to use. If you're having trouble, you'll need to make sure that our network is enabled and the internet settings are correct. If you're not using Wi-Fi you should switch it off to avoid any connection issues and save your battery.

If you're using a non-Three phone, you'll need to update your internet settings.

Make sure Mobile data is enabled.

Connect to the internet using Wi-Fi.

Check your internet settings.

To make sure you can connect through our network:

  1. From the homescreen, tap and hold the notification bar at the top and slide your finger down. You'll see a row of icons, slide the panel to the left and you'll see Data.

  2. Make sure that Data is lit up by tapping it if it's not light blue.

    You can also connect to the internet using Wi-Fi if you have a Wi-Fi connection at home or work.

To connect to Wi-Fi:

  1. From the homescreen, tap and hold the notification bar at the top and slide your finger down.

  2. Tap Wi-Fi to switch it on.

  3. Available networks will be displayed. Tap on the network you want to connect to.

  4. Enter the wireless password and tap Connect.

    If you're using a non-Three phone or are having issues connecting to the internet using our network, you should check your internet settings.

To check your internet settings:

  1. On the homescreen, tap Settings. You can also access Settings in the Apps menu or by tapping the Settings logo from the drag down menu at the top of your screen.

  2. Tap More.

  3. Tap Mobile networks.

  4. Tap Access point names.

  5. Tap 3 and make sure the settings are:

    Name: 3

    APN: three.co.uk

    Username: None

    Password: None

    MMSC: http://mms.um.three.co.uk:10021/mmsc

    MMS proxy: 8799

    APN type: Default

    If you can't see 3, tap Menu then New APN and enter the details above.

    You should now be connected to the internet.
