You can protect your dongle by setting up a PIN. Here's how:

1. Open the 3Connect dashboard by double-clicking on the 3 icon on your desktop
2. Select Settings
3. Select Manage your PIN
   






4. Select Use PIN
5. Enter your PIN in the Current PIN box.. If you haven't used a PIN before, this will the default PIN of 0000
6. Choose a new PIN. It should be between 4 and 8 digits long
7. Click OK
   






8. You'll see a confirmation that your PIN has been set up:
   




9. You'll be asked to enter your PIN every time you plug your dongle into your computer

   

If the default PIN isn't accepted, you may have already have set up a PIN. If you enter the wrong PIN more than three times, your dongle will lock and you'll need to call us for a PUK code to unlock it.

To turn off your PIN:

1. Open the 3Connect dashboard by double-clicking on the 3 icon on your desktop
2. Select Settings
3. Select Manage your PIN
   

   
   

4. Select No PIN
5. Type in and confirm your PIN
6. Click OK
   

   
   

7. You'll see a confirmation that your PIN has been turned off:
   

To change your PIN:

1. Open the 3Connect dashboard by double-clicking on the 3 icon on your desktop
2. Select Settings
3. Select Manage your PIN
   






4. Select Use PIN
5. Enter your current PIN
6. Choose a new PIN between 4 and 8 digits long
7. Click OK
   

   
   

8. You'll see a confirmation that your new PIN has been set up
