Setting up a SIM PIN.
Setting up a SIM PIN.

You can protect your SIM from unauthorised use by setting up a PIN (personal identification number). This is how:

  1. On the homescreen, select All to open the Menu

  2. Select Options

  3. Select Device

  4. Select Advanced System Settings

  5. Select SIM Card

  6. To set up your PIN, press the BlackBerry key and select Enable Security

  7. Enter the default PIN which is 0000 if you haven't set up a PIN before. If you have, you'll need to enter that PIN. You have three attempts to enter the correct PIN.
Note: If you enter the wrong PIN three times, you'll be asked to provide a PUK code. You'll need to us a call on 333 free from a Three phone or 0843 373 3333 from any other phone (5p per minute from a BT landline, other networks may vary) to get a PUK code. If you don't get a PUK code but try entering another code you may lock your SIM permanently

Your PIN will now be set up on your SIM and you'll be asked to enter the PIN whenever you switch on your BlackBerry.
