Using tablets, dongles & Mobile Wi-Fi abroad.
You can use our tablets, dongles and Mobile Wi-Fi devices in over 138 destinations so you can stay connected when you're abroad. Not all dongles and Mobile Broadband devices may work in all countries we're afraid (such as the USA), because the networks in those countries operate on a different frequency from the UK.
If you have a contract with us your device will already be set up to be used abroad. But if you joined Three before 22 July 2010, you'll need to call us on 500 from a Three phone or 0333 338 1003 (standard rates apply) from any other phone so we can activate international roaming.
If you're on Pay As You Go your device will already be set up to use abroad, but you'll need to top-up your Mobile Wi-Fi account before you go abroad.
For Mobile Wi-Fi users, your device isn't set up to automatically connect to the internet while roaming abroad, to prevent you from incurring unexpected data usage and charges. Find out more information on how to change this setting here.
If you use your device abroad the data won't come out of your monthly allowance, instead you'll be charged standard roaming rates, unless you’re in a Feel At Home destination. Find out more about Feel At Home.
Worldwide and EU data roaming limits.
We don't think you should spend more than you want to when using the internet on your device when you're abroad. So to help manage your costs, we've set a worldwide data roaming limit of £39 per month. You can find more information, including details of how to change this limit here.
You can find out how to turn off data roaming on your device so you won't be charged here.
